I learned how to beat stage 4 cancer by using the word of God! The doctor told me that I had stage 4 cancer, and it was nothing they could do to cure it. He laughed shortly after that, and another veteran told me that the same thing happened to him. I told the doctor that I wasn’t worried about that, I can beat it, I just didn’t want to have surgery. He walked around happy and in deep thought after that.
My mind went into full combat mode. The devil was coming for my life with colorectal cancer, and I was going to take his head. M-1 Tankers are the ultimate warriors. No situation is too hot for us. We don’t shoot and hide behind anything; we don’t surrender.
We don’t go to war thinking that we’re coming back; we fight until the end. We’re the number 1 target on the battlefield, because we can do the most damage. We’re defenseless against an air attack; and we know it’s coming. The pressure starts for us when we get the orders that we’re going to war, because we know we aren’t coming back. It’s a mentality that you’re born with.
God compares war in the natural realm to war in the spirit realm.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2Corinthians 10:4-5 KJV
The mentality of tankers alone has no chance against stage 4 cancer, but it works if you combine it with the word of God. Paul used the Roman soldier’s uniform to describe the Armor of God. I had already experienced victory using God’s weapons.
I chose to use praise as my primary weapon. Praise is unbeatable on the battlefield of life. I combined praise with the principle of being relentless.
And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.
And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. 2Chronicles 20:21-22
I used the example of Jacob wrestling God all night until He blessed him. I brought a new stereo system so I could play loud worship music. It’s a difference between listening to songs and singing to praise God. I made a long YouTube playlist to worship God.
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. Gen.32:24
And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. Gen. 32:26
And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. Gen. 32:27-28
I praised God for 6 straight hours one Sunday but that didn’t do it. After that, I praised Him for 8 straight hours and that did it! I had liver surgery followed by colorectal surgery to remove the cancer, and I was cancer free. I chose Sunday because of the Sabbath day scriptures in Isaiah 58:13-14 KJV. It worked for me tremendously in college.
I’ll go into more detail on future posts. I wrote a book called Never Surrender: How to Overcome Life’s Greatest Challenges while I was having symptoms from the tumor, and I didn’t know what they were. The last 2 chapters will show you how to beat stage 4 cancer, and any battle you’ll ever fight in life! I fought knowing that I would win, because God said so in His word.
